I started Elyse C. Bec Designs because I love fabrics and I wanted to bring something special to the market place. My love affair with fabrics and textures started when I moved to Paris, and then Florence, to study art history at the age of 19. With the influence of French and Italian fashion upon me, I immediately incorporated scarves of all sorts into everyday basic outfits to make my own style. I decided to bring my unique designs and the richness and elegance of fine silks and alpacas, crafted by superb artisans in the ancient weaving traditions, to the daily life of others.
Thus, Elyse C. Bec designs. Inspired by art. Created by hand. My designs aren't trends and my accessories don't wear out after one season. Elyse C. Bec scarves and wraps are timeless, based in European style. They are classic staples in contemporary colors and rich designs that illuminate an ensemble and bring casual sophistication and individuality to the busy modern woman.
In addition, Elyse C. Bec Designs supports fair-trade, talented artisans, schooled in the ancient traditions, from around the world, most of whom count on this as their source for supporting their families. Our knitters, through the help of our contracts to produce my designs, are literally knitting their way out of poverty. To complete the cycle of creating, producing and giving back, a portion of all proceeds from the sales of Elyse C. Bec scarves supports organizations dedicated to the Conservation of Beauty, the Environment and Community. Full circle. Beauty + Purpose.

Elysabeth Alfano is the owner/designer behind Elyse C. Bec Designs, which she started in Fall of 2004. Prior to starting Elyse C. Bec Designs, Elysabeth owned and operated an international art gallery for nine years.
